Welkin Entertainment Presents
NE OBLIVISCARIS
AUSTRALIAN TOUR
MARCH 27-MAY 23, 2009
With widespread critical acclaim of their live performances and their demo ‘The Aurora Veil’, and with large crowds following them wherever they go, Ne Obliviscaris are embarking on what will be one of the last opportunities to see the band perform live before they head into the studio to record their highly anticipated debut album. Their first ever Australian tour will run from March 27-May 23, and take in Melbourne (AA & 18+ shows), Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Hobart (AA & 18+ shows), Canberra, Sydney & Geelong.
"Melbourne's Ne Obliviscaris combine extreme and clean vocals with a violin, twin guitarists, a bassist and a drummer to create a wall of progressive, symphonic metal that transcends genres from black metal to jazz, and it's almost indescribable just how epic their sound is, and just how creative and virtuosic their music skills are. Ne Obliviscaris have me in awe ... this takes the best genres of metals past and mashes them together to create what I believe is the future of progressive metal" (Themetalforge.com)
“A breathtaking comeback to the live circuit…A performance that left me in awe of their artistic and technical mastery” (Beat Magazine)
“What the massive local crowd saw was something special. It was the return of a band that I truly believe will take the world by storm. A band with diversity, talent and a new found passion to take all in its path and make metal an even better genre to listen to. It’s official, Ne Obliviscaris have returned!” (Metalobsession.net)

After 15 months off the live scene, October 4 sees the return of NE OBLIVISCARIS! When Ne Obliviscaris released their demo ‘The Aurora Veil’ in April, 2007 nobody could have expected the massive groundswell of international attention this band would receive. An ever growing and hugely passionate fan base, and widespread critical acclaim has seen Ne Obliviscaris quickly rise to the status of one of the most highly regarded new metal bands around. With a unique sound combining progressive, extreme and melodic metal elements with acoustic, flamenco, jazz and western art music, and laden with masterful violin playing, this is a band making a bold musical statement. This gig will also be Ne Obliviscaris’ first with their new lead guitarist, Benjamin Baret who has recently moved to Australia from France to be part of the remarkable musical journey that Ne Obliviscaris are undertaking. Ne Obliviscaris will be joined on the night by special guests BE’LAKOR (in their ONLY performance for the rest of 2008), and Sydney’s amazing instrumental post/rock/metallers ‘SLEEPMAKESWAVES’.
We will be making our long awaited return to the live scene in Adelaide, on Saturday, September 6 with Virgin Black and The Eternal! We're all very excited to be finally making it back to Adelaide to perform, and to be sharing the stage with 2 great bands in the process. This will be our first ever performance with our new lead guitarist, Benjamin Baret, so for all you South Australians- to say it would be great to see lots of you there would be a gross understatement! Expect more Australian gig announcements in the near future! See shows for full details.
After a worldwide search lasting over 9 months that saw guitarists audition from across Australia, the USA and Europe, we are very pleased to be able to announce the arrival of Benjamin Baret, from Bordeaux, France as Ne Obliviscaris’ new lead guitarist!
An extraordinary musician that we feel will fit in perfectly with this band, Benjamin will be moving to Australia shortly to start preparing for the bands return to the live scene and the recording of our debut full length album in late 2008, set for a worldwide release early 2009 through an as yet undetermined label.
It has been a long time coming, but we are very excited to have finally found someone that we feel can not only comfortably fit in with this band, but can also help us push this band to higher and higher levels over the years to come.
Thank you all so much for the incredible support you have shown us since the release of our demo in April, 2007. It has truly blown us all away and we can’t wait to get this album out there and start performing for you all, wherever you may be around the world!
